		Name: Ettore Fois Position: Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry Office/address: Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche ed Ambientali Via Lucini 3, I-22100, Como (Italy) Scientific Career Prof. Ettore Fois studied Chemistry at the University of Sassari, then he earned his PhD in Chemical Sciences at the University of Milan (supervisors Prof. M. Simonetta and Prof. A. Gamba). His postdoctoral years were spent in the Solid State Group at SISSA (Trieste) working with Prof. R. Car, Prof. M. Parrinello and Prof. A. Selloni. Then he moved to Oxford University, at the Physical Chemistry Laboratory as Research Assistant, working in the group of Prof. P.A. Madden. He has been long term visiting scientist in the following institutions: IBM Research Laboratory in Rüschlikon, Zürich (Prof. M. Parrinello), Physical Chemistry Department, University of Geneve (Prof. A. Selloni), Max-Planck Institut für Festkörperforschung in Stuttgart (Prof. M. Parrinello). Now he is Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences at the University of Insubria in Como. research publications teaching home
