The emphasis of research group is the interplay between Applications and Theoretical issues: on one hand, many (structured) matrix tools developed in previous researches are ready to be applied to concrete problems, in order to obtain significant advances in terms of more efficient algorithms, more accurate modeling, or deeper insight in the theoretical behavior. On the other hand, basic researches on structured linear algebra, often suggested by specific applications, deserve further interest. Generally speaking, the underlying idea is that any expected mathematical advance is a form of investment with a potential impact on the future approaches to applications.
